Mining is the necessary evil. it is essential for its innovativity. What I learned two weeks ago is that the earth is basically a rock. The water we see from a outerspace picture of the earth apparently is like a thin film over the vastness of how mars looks in sci fi films. not necessarily the red sand but versatile colored soils all across the land. It is however a very hard industry. a rough one. but the problem that is crucial is the density of the useful minerals available or more likely the identification and removal and purification processes that take crude and make it into applications.
